From time to time, Morninglight organizes or participates in special events (check out our calendar).

In 2010, Morninglight participated in:

• March 20 – Connecting Point 2010: Maine’s Christian Expo and Family Conference, 9:00 AM–4:00 PM. First Baptist Church of Portland, 360 Canco Rd.  Barbara Appleby, director of Morninglight will share on the topic of “God’s Daughters – Our handicaps, His calling” at 9AM in room 251. Morninglight will also have a display table throughout the day.

• May 15 – Zawadi Nikuze at First Baptist Church of Yarmouth, 9:30 AM-12:00 PM. First Baptist Church of Yarmouth, 346 Main St.  Morninglight sisters will join with First Baptist Church of Yarmouth to welcome Zawadi Nikuze, a Congolese woman working with survivors of rape and trauma. The Morninglight worship team will lead a brief time of praise and worship, and Barbara Appleby will help facilitate the meeting, during which Zawadi will speak. A time of light refreshments and fellowship will start at 9:30. The event is organized by Linda Jones and First Baptist of Yarmouth.
